The advice you are giving me is simply impossible to adhere, especially if you're trying to tell me whether the head is too big or stout or etc. The head is big because the anatomy is supposed to be based off that of an ottsel, whereas their heads are huge and cartoony. Note the word "cartoony."
Also, the direction of the head is where it is supposed to be. She is looking at US, and for that effect I wanted her head to be looking directly towards US. Not at an angle or anything, I don't want her nose getting in the way of the eyes. Second of all, this isn't my character. She is differently proportioned compared to an anatomically correct *human*. In fact, this is not a human. This is an ottsel. Their eyes are slightly veering off the edge of their face, like Tess for example. Her eyes are spaced to give off that innocent and flirty look at the same time. there are no eyebrows present on an ottsel. I do take offense in this, to be honest, because your critique is quite inflammatory [to my rage], and it is untidy, too spaced, and not bringing out the point. I do hope you try to critique better next time. However, you might have missed the point of why I have given you critique. It is my opinion what could be better, a stream of thought what might help you. Nobody ever said you have to support my opinion. I did have in mind that it was cartoony, and - believe it or not - I have a general vision of anthro. Perhaps it's a difference of these visions between us - but nonetheless, it was my opinion how that could be. Again, I repeat it was my opinion, therefore it is critique from my point of view. Critique is not here to soothe one's ego, it should give you ideas what might be different - and even if it opposes one's own view, the person will have their reasons for saying that. And again, I did not intend to offend you - and since I did, I apologize from the bottom of my heart. I only wanted to tell clarify some things. I do not wish any further conversation on here. - chinara. -- [...] Then, one of them lowered his binoculars. "That's hundred bucks for me, Scar." |
I have not much to critique here, but there was one point that bothered me a little. Please direct your attention to the face of ecokitten.
In my opinion, the head is a little too drawn horizontally. It makes the head unproportional to the fragile body which again affects the total impact. Apart of that, (as a person generally making too big heads and STILL getting away with it *laughs*) there was something striking me... Odd about the kitten's eye placement/shape.
Well, truth be told the shape of the right half of the face awakes the slight impression that the right eye (viewer's right) is a little too far at the edge. I see you wanted to go for the flirty type, but through lining the right eyebrow the way that it veers away from the eyelid the more it comes to the middle of the face it appears wrong.
Beside that, I've noticed something about the nose. It's a little much on the right. Considering the head's tilt, I believe you should have put it a bit more to the left.
Oh and one more point (this might be a little subjective, but nonetheless a point)... I think the eyelid of the right eye (v.p.o.v.) doesn't cover it up enough, considering how you drew the left eye.
Well, this is all from me - and I hope you didn't take any offense as well as I hope that it helps.
Love,
- chinara
